I have been traveling and photographing Europe’s most overlooked sites since 1997. I travel two to three times a year mainly in the fall and winter when the natural elements enhance subject matter and scenes are visually at their peak. I have shot in 24 countries with more and something new coming in every year. My portfolio has just about anything with a sincere historic interest. That includes cemeteries and architecture from classic destinations such as Paris, Rome and London to Art nouveau in Latvia, castles in Slovenia, cathedrals in Russia and romantic ruins in Ireland to name a few. I shoot mostly with Kodak film and print using traditional darkroom techniques. A future in digital remains to be seen. Overall, my goal with every photograph is to convey a unique sense of time, place and composition by combining graceful works of art with its often animated environment. I hope my work will encourage the viewer to think, savor history and to admire sometimes forgotten works of art both man made and natural. |
